Events or not?

Hmmmm...

This is a tricky one...

Events are one of the most important things in a church website. Or at least they ought to be.

But it's all too easy to find church websites that still show events from last year or worse!

So here are your options...

ChurchSuite is truly great. We thoroughly recommend it. There are alternatives like the beautiful looking Planning Center, but nothing with the broad breadth of usefulness that is in ChurchSuite.

Depending on what you subscribe to it can help you with things like:

  • Membership Database
  • Communicate with your membership
  • Have a Church Calendar
  • Take registrations for Events
  • Help to check people in at events
  • Service Planning
  • Online giving (with automatic giftAid)
  • Organise Small Groups e.g. cell groups

What can it do on a website?

The most obvious use is with the church calendar and events.

Why is it better with ChurchSuite?

If you have services, prayer meetings, mens/women meetings, Alpha/Christianity Explored, worship meetings and so forth, it's great to have them on the website.

If you use ChurchSuite to keep your membership in touch with these meetings, or to allow guests to sign up to meetings, then you don't really want to have to update ChurchSuite AND the website with the same information.

It's much better to do it once in ChurchSuite, and have that information AUTOMATICALLY display on the website.

How does it look?

There are two ways to have ChurchSuite on your website:

  1. Use ChurchSuite's own method. You see this on many church websites. It always looks the same but with minor tweaks in colour and perhaps a logo.
  2. Use the content from ChurchSuite and style it to match your website. Brilliantly, ChurchSuite provide the content in such a way that people like us can make it look just like the rest of the website. This method means visitors wouldn't even know the content wasn't originated by you. It costs a bit more when building the site, but it's worth it if you have the budget.
